RT-203: Principles of Quantitative PCR and Data Analysis (2.5 days)
This course is designed for any real-time PCR users seeking a better understanding of all aspects of qPCR Experiments. Attendees will benefit from having a combination of theoretical training in a classroom setting and hands-on experience in the laboratory, as well as from interacting closely with fellow attendees and Life Technologies application scientists over a 3-day period.
Course Description:This interactive course is a 3-day comprehensive real-time PCR course focusing on quantitatve and gene expression applications training that covers all aspects of experimental design, execution, and interpretation. The course is designed to teach following: (1) how to properly design various qPCR experiments; (2) how to design assays; (3) how to validate critical experimental parameters; (4) how to properly set up and run reactions; (5) how to obtain and interpret final data; and (6) how to troubleshoot data. Participants will listen to classroom lectures, as well as carry out laboratory exercises geared toward each of these steps. Course specific theoretical topics and exercises include:

- Basic real-time PCR theory
- Assay design
- Experimental development and gene expression validation workflows

RT-402: Certified Operator Training Add-On Class for Real-Time Instruments (1/2 day)
This half-day Certified Operator Training course can be added on to any of our 2-day Real Time PCR Courses for the 7500, StepOneâ„¢, StepOnePlus™ or 7900 System. Attendees that register for this add-on class must also register for one of the following: RT-109, RT-110, RT-111 or RT 112.
Who Should Attend?The certification course is designed for new as well as current users who want to be tested and certified on the use of the software, instrumentation and data analysis to satisfy job requirements. Students will be tested on the skills they learn in the basic 2-day class (RT-109, RT-110, RT-111 or RT 112). Attendees will have training and testing in a class environment. Attendees will be tested on hands-on lab skills, software and data analysis skills, and will complete a written knowledge assessment.

Course Description for Module 1:This module will demonstrate cycling and imagining using the OpenArray® Real-Time qPCR software. Cycling and Imaging OpenArray® plates is very simple process. To ensure that the sample IDs have imported properly and associated with a .tpf file prior to cycling, this module will demonstrate the steps required for successful data collection.
